Numerous buildings downtown have seen revitalization as shops, offices and restaurants that prosper in this unique village. Among them, downtown Penn Yan boasts a downtown gallery, jewelry shop, book store, card and gift shop, and the first Goin’ Postal store in Upstate, N.Y., making it convenient for residents to package, ship and even sell via eBay.

From pizza to bar food and casual dinner, all are within walking distance of Birkett Landing. From mid-May to mid-October, Penn Yan hosts a Farmer’s Market for fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and craft goods. Birkett Landing is a short walk from two entrances to the Keuka Outlet Trail, as well as to boat launch services, canoe/kayak rental, tennis courts, public parks and a ball field.

Three miles from Keuka College, residents will be able to take in exhibits of local, regional and world-renowned artists at the Lightner Art Gallery, as well as other cultural events hosted by the college. Within a short drive are the Windmill Farm and Craft Market or Keuka and Seneca Lake wineries.

A resident of Birkett Landing Apartments need not go far for necessities; grocery, banking, hair salon and pharmacies are also close at hand.
